9/11 Remembrance Ceremony

On August 30, we will gather at the Marine Corps Reserve Center - Brooklyn, NY in memory of and to honor Sergeant Major Michael S. Curtin and Gunnery Sergeant Matthew D. Garvey. These Marines were the epitome of selfless service, not only dedicating their lives to the profession of arms, but also as civil servants in New York City. Sergeant Major Curtin was a New York City Police Officer and Gunnery Sergeant Garvey was a New York City Fireman. These gentlemen made the ultimate sacrifice while saving others on September 11, 2001, when the World Trade Center towers collapsed.
