Celia Baker Veteran Scholarship for Writers

This scholarship is awarded to Veteran (combat or noncombat) writers who are actively publishing (or set to publish) original work in magazines and literary periodicals, such as The Paris ReviewZoetrope, Blackbird,The Oxford American, The Southern Review, PoetryCrab Orchard Review, Gulf Coast, Iowa Review, Chattahoochee Review, etc.  Scholars cannot have a book published anywhere in their genre by the start of the conference.

Each Seaside Writers Conference, a select writer is awarded the CELIA BAKER VETERAN SCHOLARSHIP in poetry or fiction. This competitive scholarship includes a full conference tuition waiver, and housing is offered at a steep discount for the duration of the conference (You pay $300 total for the week). Scholars will have full access to all conference activities and events, will be included in a workshop with faculty, and will have a group scholar reading with reception.  Scholars will be responsible for their own travel and food costs. Conference takes place in Seaside, Florida.
