The Bensonhurst Volunteer Ambulance Service offers to assist former military men and women to become Certified New York State Emergency Medical Technicians

Your Military training taught you to know what skills to pursue and then develop those skills to help guide your career decisions. It taught that developing those skills would help you to be more marketable when you were ready to pursue a career outside the service.

BENSONHURST VOLUNTEER AMBULANCE SERVICES' VETERANS MEDICAL TRAINING PROGRAM

Offers the following:

- Support services for veterans interested in taking the NYS EMT certification exams; including test preparation

- Practical, hands-on medical and patient care experience

- Points on Civil Service Exam for FDNY

- Job Referrals for employment with public (e.g. New York City Fire Department) and private emergency medical services in New York City

- Referrals to City University (CUNY) offering Associate Degree program

- Opportunity to take advantage of scholarships and tuition assistance opportunities

- Technical training - such as: anti-terrorism, special operations training and OSHA courses in addition to EMT training
