Join Our Research Study on Bipolar Disorder?
We are looking for military veterans between the ages of 18-65 who have ever experienced the following:
- Significant shifts in mood
- Rapid speech
- Racing thoughts
- Increased energy or irritability
- Decreased need for sleep
- Impulsive thoughts
Participants will be compensated up to $825 for their participation. There is no cost to participate. Transportation may be provided. The study involves:
- Diagnostic/clinical assessments
- Questionnaires
- Blood draws
- Brain scan (MRI)
The goal is to understand the brain function in health, following mild TBI injury and/or in mental illness (e.g. depression, psychosis, etc). The study will be conducted at James J. Peters VA Medical Center (130 Kingsbridge Road) in the MIRECC Office on the 4th Floor, Room #4B-52 as well as Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai (1470 Madison Avenue) over the span of 12 months.
