Join Our Research Study on Head Injuries and Mental Health?

We are looking for military veterans between the ages of 18-65 who suffer from mild traumatic brain injuries and/or mental illnesses.

Participants will be compensated up to $350 for their participation. There is no cost to participate. This is an observational study and not a treatment study. Transportation may be provided. The study involves:

  • Interviews
  • Questionnaires
  • Psychological tests
  • Blood draws
  • Brain scan (MRI)

 

The goal is to understand the brain function in health, following mild TBI injury and/or in mental illness (e.g. depression, psychosis, etc) as it relates to impulsivity and suicidality. The study will be conducted at James J. Peters VA Medical Center (130 Kingsbridge Road) in the MIRECC Office on the 4th Floor, Room #4B-52 as well as Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai (1470 Madison Avenue).
