2017 America’s Parade Magazine Needs Writers

Task & Purpose partners with the United War Veterans Council to develop the official America’s Parade magazine and resource guide for November 2017. One hundred thousand copies of this publication are printed and distributed every year – a great platform to share your voice with our veterans community and the general public. This year Jennifer Peters will be overseeing the editorial content for the magazine. She is a longtime contributor and editor to Task & Purpose who has covered military and veterans issues for a number of years.

They’re looking for strong writers to contribute this year’s program. Whether you’re a well-published author, a novice writer, a veteran, or even a military spouse, they want to share your voice.

They’ll assign general topics to writers to write about that revolve around the parade and its history, veteran identity, military transition, and the veterans community in New York City. If you would like to like to write an article or essay for the 2017 Veterans Day parade publication, fill out this application, or email Jennifer at [email protected] and give them an idea of your background and interests. Once we review your details, someone from our editorial board will contact you to take the next steps.

Fill out the application and apply no later than August 27.
