Moral Injury and Moral Foundations

If you are a veteran who served between 2001 and 2014, you may be eligible to participate in an online survey. The purpose of this study is to understand the effects potentially morally injurious events have on veterans’ moral foundations. Specifically, the study examines whether experiences that go against veterans’ deeply held moral beliefs impact veterans’ moral decision-making processes.

The survey includes sections on personal experiences with acts that may have violated moral beliefs and on individual moral preferences. There are no questions designed to evoke emotional reactions, and you may stop the survey at any point. The survey should take no more than 15 minutes to complete. Surveys must be completed by August 31, 2018.

Participants may enter for a drawing to receive one of five $20 Visa Gift Cards. In order to qualify for the gift card, the survey must be completed in its entirety and winners will be chosen at random.
