The New York City Department of Veterans' Services has partnered with NYC Service to launch Service2Service - a professional development opportunity centered in mentorship between NYC veterans and AmeriCorps alumni as mentees and city government employees as mentors.
NYC veterans and AmeriCorps alumni interested in learning more about a career in NYC are invited to apply to become a mentee. This is an opportunity to learn the inner workings of NYC government and access a network of professional public servants.

Each mentee and mentor pair commits to a minimum of bi-monthly one-on-one in-person sessions beginning January 2020 through June 2020. In addition to your relationship with your mentor, Service2Service provides workshops connected to professional careers in NYC government.
Requirements for Mentee participation:
- Members of the US armed forces (active or veterans), OR those who have successfully completed an AmeriCorps service term by December 1, 2019
- NYC resident
- Strong interest in City government careers
- Commitment to six-month mentorship and programming sessions

The deadline to apply is December 8, 2019. There are limited slots for mentee participation. Mentees can expect to hear back about acceptance by early January 2020.
