Register for Ft. Hamilton Access

The Fort Hamilton Visitor Control Center will host pre-registration for veterans authorized expanded access on specific dates & times. 

If you are within the new user groups eligible under this act starting January 1, 2020, please know that the US Army Fort Hamilton Department of Emergency Services team is proactively working to ensure this is a smooth process.

Passes will be issues after January 1. However, pre-registering can alleviate long wait times when coming to the base for the first time. They will make a list of those pre-registered to allow for smooth process. Ensure you have proper documentation or call to clarify before showing up. 

Pre-Registration dates and times are:

December 18, 11:30am - 2:30pm

December 23, 11:30am - 3pm

December 30, 10:30am- 2:30pm

As per regulation: As with all other individuals seeking access to DoD installations, all eligible veterans and caregivers must pass a basic on-the-spot background check prior to enrolling, and an automated check each time they enter the installation. Veterans and caregivers with felony convictions, felony arrest warrants, or other types of derogatory information related to criminal history or terrorism will not be permitted entry to the installation. To access the installation, veterans eligible solely under the Purple Heart and Disabled Veterans Equal Access Act of 2018, who are eligible to obtain a Veterans Health Identification Card (VHIC) will present their VHIC at installation access points. Upon the first visit to the installation, eligible veterans must present their VHIC at the visitor control center and caregivers must present the letter issued to them from the VA. In addition to their VA document, they will need one of the following Acceptable Credentials:

-REAL ID-compliant driver's license issued by a State, territory, possession, or the District of Columbia

-REAL ID-compliant non-driver's identification card issued by a State, territory, possession, or the District of Columbia

-Enhanced driver's license issued by a State, territory, possession, or the District of Columbia

-U.S. passport or passport card

-Federal personal identity verification card

-Transportation Worker Identification Card.
