Craft of War Writing Workshop

Participate in the Craft of War Writing Workshop beginning February 29.

Jeremy Warneke instructs this free workshop in the Bronx, February 29 - May 16, 12:15-2:15pm. 10 sessions on Saturdays. Light snacks provided.

The Craft of War Writing focuses on reading war narratives while considering how participants can draft their own stories. Each week, the class reads published pieces in the field of war writing, from classic authors to the most contemporary. In these works, they seek out elements of craft to help participants arrive at the essentials of writing. Participants are then encouraged to compose their own short pieces, read each other's work, offer feedback and edits, and suggest revision strategies to help one another realize the vision for his or her own writing, whether fiction, poetry or creative non fiction. Periodic guest authors will also be invited to visit.
