Rutgers-Newark Clemente Veterans’ Initiative

Rutgers-Newark launches a new humanities course for veterans called the Clemente Veterans’ Initiative at the Cornwall Center.

The course will run two evenings per week for 12 weeks in Spring 2020 and will explore themes of war and reconciliation through texts from the Ancient Greeks to contemporary literature. Prospective students do not need a high school diploma, GED, or college experience to apply, and the course will be entirely free to students; books, childcare, and transportation assistance will be provided. Transferable college credits (3) from Bard College will be available to those who complete the course.

The course is still in the planning stages, but you can direct any questions to Charity Anderson (charity.anderson@rutgers.edu).
