Due to the cancellation of May events in NYC, and uncertainty around the public health situation, many of us will be looking for other ways to appropriately observe and honor Memorial Day this year.
The United War Veterans Council and NYC Department of Veterans’ Services (DVS) invite you to join in remembering America’s fallen through A Flag, a Flower, a Moment of Memorial.
A Flag, a Flower, a Moment of Memorial brings us all together “virtually” through a shared commemorative activity that can be carried out in our own homes.
To participate, simply take a few minutes on or around Memorial Day on May 25 to find an American flag and a flower and reflect on the meaning of the holiday with your family and friends.
Upload images and videos of you commemorating Memorial Day with an American flag and a flower and include the hashtag #FlagFlowerMemorial.
UWVC and NYC DVS will share some of the remembrances on their social channels. Be sure to encourage your friends and family to participate.
