The City University of New York (CUNY) is inviting applications for a University Executive Director of Public Safety to provide vision, leadership, and oversight for safety operations and administration of its 25 urban college campuses across the five boroughs, ensuring the safety of students, faculty, staff, and guests and enhancing their experience on our facilities and properties. The University Executive Director of Public Safety is a senior executive level position reporting to the Executive Vice Chancellor/Chief Operating Officer of The City University of New York. They serve as the primary safety advisor on several functional areas related to: comprehensive crime prevention and related investigations and reporting; personal safety; building conditions and access controls; fire safety; emergency, disaster and crisis management; security threat and risk assessments (human, chemical, cyber); law enforcement and compliance training and reporting.

Required: A baccalaureate or advanced degree in police science, criminology, public administration or related law enforcement discipline and 10 years of progressively responsible public safety/security, law enforcement, or equivalent military experience, including at least five years of managerial and supervisory experience.
