Columbia University NYSPI Aging & Trauma Study

Columbia University and New York State Psychiatric Institute present a research study investigating how experiencing trauma affects the aging process.

Have you experienced a stressful or traumatic event? Are you interested in how your brain and body are aging?

Studies have shown that a person’s biological age can be younger or older than their actual age - biological age is what is most linked to longevity and healthy functioning as a person grows older. 

Eligible participants:

  • Must be 50 years old or older
  • Receive up to $300 in financial compensation over the course of participation
  • An MRI scan
  • Free transportation arrangements
  • A comprehensive evaluation by a clinician
