Consolidated Edison Company of New York, Inc. (ConEdison) is seeking candidates for a Strategic Channel Engagement Section Manager position. This is a full-time position that is not available on the ConEdison career website but is open to veterans. It is located at 4 Irving Place in Manhattan.
Candidates must have a driver's license.
Core responsibilities:
Drive stakeholder and regulatory engagement plan in alignment with broader Company strategy and department implementation goals through regular discussions with other departments including Utility of the Future, Energy Policy and Regulatory Affairs, Customer Operations, AMI, Gas Engineering and Strategic Planning
Develop long-term relationships and advanced alignment of department plans and efforts with Staff feedback through regular communications with DPS Staff
Track and manage regulatory reporting to ensure key messages are effectively communicated through filings and public documents
Develp strategic external relationships through outreach and participation in both EE & DRP regulatory and implementation discussions (such as JU discussions and customer representatives such as NYCECC) as well as industry groups (such as NYGEO and BEST)
Build long-term trusting and sustainable relationships with New York City, and affiliated or related agencies such as DCAS, HHS, DOB, and NYCHA to ensure coordination of energy efficiency, demonstration projects and DER efforts to achieve common goals efficiently
Develop an effective working partnership with NYSERDA and NYPA to ensure alignment and prevent duplication of efforts to maximize beneficial outcomes on EE and DER metrics
Execute on opportunities for formal partnerships with organizations in the EE, DM, EV, and DG spaces that result in furthering the Company's business goals and state policy goals through clearly defined milestones and outcomes
Conduct comparative research based on experiences of other utilities in other jurisdictions (national and international) to form best strategies for success
Guide team to support business across major regulatory proceedings and working groups and stakeholder negotiations
Guide and develop high-performing team
Perform other related tasks, assignments, and special projects as required
Required education/experience"
Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 8 years of related work experience OR
Master's Degree and a minimum of 6 years of related work experience
Required work experience:
Experience in public policy, utility or energy field, regulatory strategy
Experience in developing, negotiating with stakeholders such as regulators, joint utilities, various levels of government agency interactions
Proven ability to translate policy strategy into implementation plans
Strong writing abilities and oral communication skills
Strong organizational skills, demonstrated ability to see the big picture and attention to details
Flexibility to deal with ambiguity and comfortable working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
Experience in demand side technologies preferred
Business modeling experience preferred
