The VA New York Harbor Healthcare System is honored to join the National VA and PVA Team to host the 40th National Veterans Wheelchair Games (NVWG) in New York City in the summer of 2021. The National Veterans Wheelchair Games poses an excellent opportunity for Veterans and their families to experience the world’s largest stage in New York City. Look out Big Apple, you are about to be amazed at what our outstanding Veterans can accomplish through adaptive sports!
Current projections indicate significant mandates will remain in effect regarding business/event gatherings in August, and these mandates will impact the NVWG hotels, venues and local restaurant facilities, etc. As a result, NVWG is making the following changes to the program to support the health and safety of Veterans, volunteers, staff, stakeholders and families. Their goal was to find a compromise that will enable them to have an in-person event this summer while supporting those Veterans not wishing to travel or unable to travel.
The 40th National Veterans Wheelchair Games will host in-person competition in New York City and an at-Home competition during August 7-14, 2021. They are calling this version of the NVWG, the Hybrid.
