Supervisory Security Guard Position at Fort Hamilton

The Army Installation Management Command is seeking a Supervisory Security Guard at Fort Hamilton in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn.  This is a full-time, permanent GS8 position with an annual salary range of $55,900 to $72,673.

Responsibilites:

Serve as Shift Supervisor; exercising direct supervision of activities of a Guard workforce who are responsible for providing 24 hour maximum or extraordinary security measures against theft, fire, trespass, sabotage, espionage, etc.

Plan and coordinate the activities of a guard force shift, to ensure the maintenance of physical security standards; enforcement of federal state, and local laws and official orders and regulations.

Responsible for protection of government and personal property; control of access of personnel and vehicles to the installation.

Coordinate the activities of a guard force shift, to ensure the maintenance of physical security standards.

Develop training plans based on approved training courses and regulatory requirements and supervises necessary training for guard personnel in the use of weapons.

Make decisions according to the nature of perceived threat, as from demonstrators or other organized subversive actions, by the nature of hazards imposed by local terrain, and/or weather or other conditions.

Responsible for performing a diverse range protective responsibilities over Federal property, employees, and visitors.

Perform supervisory and administrative duties relating to the security guard force. Plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, set and adjust short-term priorities, and prepare schedules for completion of work.
