Wildland Firefighter Training Positions with the Veterans Fire Corp

The Veterans Fire Corp of the Southeast Conservation Corp has positions available for a certification and training program for wildland firefighters.  This position is from January 10, 2022 through September 30, 2022.  The salary is $600 per week and a $3,172.50 AmeriCorps Education Award upon successful completion of program. 

Benefits: Paid certifications and trainings related to wildland firefighting, uniforms, personal protective equipment, crew food when working/camping away from home base area. 

Housing:Housing is NOT provided to members, SECC only provides accommodations (camping, bunk housing, etc.) when crew is traveling away from home base for overnight stays. 

The Veterans Fire Corps is a collaborative initiative run in partnership with state and federal agencies including the U.S. Forest Service, the Bureau of Land Management and the Corporation for National and Community Service. The Veterans Fire Corps engages recent-era Veterans on priority hazardous fuels projects while developing the next generation of wildland firefighters.
