Blue Star Families is seeking a Social Media Specialist. This is a full-time, fully remote position.
Blue Star Families (BSF) is seeking a Social Media Manager who is entrenched in the social game to help navigate the best strategy for growth. This role will work with a team of senior managers to develop the right momentum on Blue Star Families social platforms. This role works across the marketing and communications departments to plan and coordinate content. The ideal candidate will showcase an in-depth understanding of major and emerging social media platforms, their participants, and how each platform can be leveraged to gain unique marketing value. We’re looking for a self-starter who is obsessed with building engaging, authentic, and provocative content to drive meaningful conversation and build awareness with the expertise to monitor, analyze and test to deliver on goals.
Required Experience and Skills:
Have 5+ years of of proven experience in a social media content creation and strategy role for a mid-size to large brand
BA/BS or equivalent
Stellar written and verbal communication, with the ability to capture and replicate an authentic voice of a brand and individual
A deep understanding of social platforms, organic algorithms, and strategies to infiltrate the algorithm to increase engagement
A sense of humor that will translate well online
Expert level skills building followings across different social media platforms, their respective participants (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, etc.), and how each platform can be deployed in different scenarios
Fascinated by understanding what drives member loyalty and participation. Ability to look at data, analyze, and draw valued insights
Energized by a continuous stream of high-speed, high-stakes challenges. Startup experience is a big plus.
Available on evenings and weekends to monitor and engage on digital platforms
Demonstrated ability to develop social media/online community plans and drive engagement strategies that deliver results through testing, iteration, and metrics
Self-starter with ability to work both independently and collaboratively across teams, functions, and departments, driving alignment and managing deadlines
Preferred Experience and Skills:
Proven experience developing and executing paid social media campaigns across multiple platforms and track analytical performance/ROI
Military connected experience, comfortable working with teams around the world
Strong existing relationships with key digital influencers and tastemakers
Experience with technology, military culture and/or government entities. Personal curiosity and knowledge of these sectors are also valued
Expert in Microsoft Office and Google Drive
Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
Solid knowledge of SEO, keyword research and Google Analytics
Experience working with Salesforce or similar project management platforms
Social copywriting skills
Art Direction experience
Experience using Sprout Social or similar social media scheduling platforms
Proficiency in analytics and data interpretation
Excellent project management and organization skills
