MTA Security Emergency Response Team Manager Position

MTA is seeking a Manager for the Security Emergency Response Team (SERT).  This is a full-time position with an annual salary range of $70,287 to $104,296.

The Manager, Security Emergency Response Team (SERT) will be accountable for managing the survey of all rooms, tunnels and wide areas, with special attention to areas attracting trespassers in an effort to secure transit infrastructure and maintain it free of debris. The incumbent will coordinate with various NYCT departments to repair defects, remove refuse and or secure rooms where trepassing has been detected, while coordinating with the NYPD on cases of vandalism. This position will be also responsible for managing security personnel and property protection at all bus depots/subway yards and NYCT facilites in the five boroughs.

Education and experience requirements:

Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in Business Administration and four (4) years of full-time professional experience, with at least two (2) years of managerial/Supervisory experience (Preferred); OR

Satisfactory equivalent of education and experience

Desired skills:

Strong knowledge of NYCT and Subway rules, regulations, policies and procedures

Knowledge of the NYCT subway system

Knowledge of NYCT safety rules and labor contracts

Strong project management skills

Demostrated ability to effectively interact with all level of management

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Strong knowledge of computer applications including Microsoft Word, Excel and Access
