On November 8, The 9/11 Memorial & Museum presents Veterans of New York City.
12pm: Hear a special live talk in The Stories They Tell series titled The Stories They Tell: SEAL Team Six and the Hunt for bin Laden will kick off the Salute to Service events in the museum's auditorium. This talk discusses the decades-long manhunt for the founder of al-Qaeda and the daring raid that ultimately eliminated Osama bin Laden.
3pm: U.S. Army recruits from the Bronx will recognize New York veteran organizations. Following a performance by the Six String Soldiers from the U.S. Army Field Band, local Army recruits will participate in a future soldier swearing-in ceremony, including a special recognition of local veteran organizations dedicated to supporting veterans and their families. 6:30pm: The museum will host a special evening program in the auditorium, "Theater of War." Tickets are required.
Additional 9/11 Tribute Museum Veterans Day events:
The 9/11 Memorial & Museum pays tribute to our country’s veterans during Salute to Service, a special five-day tribute honoring veterans, active-duty members of the military and their families. From November 8 to 12, the 9/11 Memorial & Museum will host numerous events and special programs for veterans and their families, as well as the visiting public. Throughout the tribute, veterans will receive free museum admission. Veterans will also receive half-price museum tickets for two family members during the tribute. Ticketing for Salute to Service will be available at a dedicated ticket table at the museum entrance. Programs taking place on the memorial are weather dependent.
Free admission will also be offered to veteran organizations participating in New York City's Veterans Day Parade. To coordinate your group visit and to confirm that your group qualifies, please email [email protected].
