MOAA Maximize Your Overall Compensation Package

Military Officers Association of America offers a virtual seminar: Maximize Your Overall Compensation Package on December 9, 1-4pm (EST). Join MOAA’s financial and benefits expert Capt. Paul J. Frost, AFC®, USN (Ret), and MOAA’s senior director for transition services, Col. Brian Anderson, USAF (Ret), for a live and interactive virtual classroom. The event is open to transitioning servicemembers, veterans, and military spouses.

The salary and benefits negotiation process is unlike any other formal negotiating you might have done, such as with cars or homes. Moreover, your conduct during the negotiation process will directly affect your relationship with your future employer. The employer wants you to be happy, but it is up to you to articulate what will give you the greatest job and personal satisfaction.

    The course will cover:

    • The Value of your TRICARE Benefit
    •  Composition of Employee Benefits Packages
    •  Preparing for Salary Negotiation
    •  When to Talk Money
    •  How to Respond to Salary Questions
    •  Evaluating the Salary Offer
    •  Closing the Deal

Travis Manion Foundation Virtual Character Story Readings

Travis Manion Foundation offers a Virtual Character Story Reading (for 2nd to 5th graders) on December 9, 3pm (EST). TMF's Northeast team offers opportunities for your child to participate in conversations about character, service and leadership through both guided discussions and story readings.

Character Does Matter strengthens character and leadership skills in young adults. Grounded in the evidence-based field of Positive Psychology, the program uses a strengths-based approach to foster character traits in the next generation through a combination of informal discussions and activity-based learning. By sharing stories of real people who exemplify great character and leadership, Character Does Matter demonstrates what it means to live the “If Not Me, Then Who…” ethos – and challenges students to do the same.
