    Housing Accommodations Rights for People with Disabilities

    Hope And Victory Evolves (H.A.V.E.) and New York Lawyers for the Public Interest (NYLPI) present online training for Housing Accommodations Rights of People with Disabilities on July 21, 1:30-3:30pm. The session is designed for civilians & veterans, youth/adults/seniors, family-go-to-persons, clients, peer educators, advocates, case managers, health & housing resource/service providers, community leaders, and others.

    The event will share information and available resources to help people with disabilities and the aging to live independently and safely in their activities of daily living (ADLs), at home, as best they can for as long as they can.

    New Politics Leadership Academy Documentary Screening

    New Politics Leadership Academy presents an online Documentary Screening of A Towering Task on July 23, 7:30pm (EST). It tells the remarkable story of the Peace Corps and takes viewers on a journey of what it means to be a global citizen. The event will be followed by a panel discussion featuring documentary filmmaker Alana DeJoseph and a slate of Returned Peace Corps Volunteers.

    West Shore Little League in Staten Island, NY

    Rolling Thunder 3 Boro Run

    Participate in the Annual Rolling Thunder 3-Boro Run, honoring Frankie “Towkar” Appice, on July 28. The event will support Disabled American Veterans (DAV) and local vets.

    Sign in begins at 8:30am in Staten Island at West Shore Little League. Kickstands go up at 11am, heading to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Manhattan. Bikes will be fully escorted to and from the Memorial.

    Your donation includes breakfast, a free pin, lunch, and entry to a family-friendly after party hosted by the Marine Corps League at 46 Ontario Ave, Staten Island (beginning at 1pm).

    Rolling Thunder is a volunteer organization. Each member’s diligence and dedication enables us to support those who have served our country. Our veterans gave to us, help us give back to them.

    Backpacks For Life Annual Golf Outing

    Join Backpacks For Life for their 5th Annual Golf Outing on July 27, 9am. Enjoy a day filled with on-course activities including black jack and corn hole while playing on one of New Jersey’s premiere courses. Kick off the day with their favorite Veteran Owned Businesses! Enjoy coffee from Black 6 Coffee, cigars from The Mobile Cigar Lounge and beer from Backward Flag Brewing Co. Head out onto the course for a full day of golf with fun activities and prizes along the way. Finish the day at the cocktail hour, silent auction, and full dinner plus their infamous Helicopter Ball Drop.
