Poetic Theater Productions Virtual Veteran Voices Showcase

Poetic Theater Productions presents a pay-what-you-can online reading of original work by veterans and the family members of veterans on October 24, 7-8:30pm. There will be a panel discussion with the participants after the event. Please consider sticking around on Zoom to participate in that.

Warrior cultures of the past such as the Greeks, Romans, and Native Americans welcomed their military home in rituals of storytelling. Following in that tradition, the Veteran Voices program seeks to create a compassionate environment for veterans and the family members of veterans to speak their truths, share their experiences, and bear witness together. Throughout the workshop series, they use writing and storytelling as tools to foster creativity, compassion, and camaraderie both among the participants and among the audience members of the final performance.

Hire Heroes Military Spouses Job Market Webinar

Join Hire Heroes USA for a webinar - Military Spouses: Master the Modern Job Market on October 27, 12-2pm (EST).

Are you a military spouse or know of a military spouse seeking employment? Frequent moves due to changes in duty station, caring for children when their spouse is deployed, and having to re-obtain certifications that don’t transfer from state to state are only a few reasons why the military spouse unemployment rate is four times higher than their civilian counterparts. These unique job search challenges require a unique approach. That’s where Hire Heroes USA comes in.

Virtually join the Hire Heroes USA Serving Spouses team for expert instruction to help military spouses navigate the job search process. Attendees will receive resume writing guidance, learn how to leverage their personal networks to achieve employment goals, and receive effective and proven interview techniques from live military spouse facilitators. Searching for employment is stressful enough without the added challenge of being a military spouse, but you don’t have to do it alone.
