    Warrior Writers Virtual Workshop

Attend the Warrior Writers Virtual Workshop on October 18, 3-5pm (EST). This generative creative writing workshop will offer prompts that cover a variety of military issues and experiences. ADC 2020 Virtual Summit Series: What's Next?

In a fast‐changing world, ADC's mission remains the same – supporting the military and our military families. We can’t gather in D.C., but we can bring D.C. to you. Introducing the Summit Series, a new way to engage with defense leaders and network with ADC’s community: Five topics. Five weeks. One Community.

On October 22, 3pm (EST), attend Are You Ready for What's Next? - The Future of Our National Defense. There is a growing consensus in Congress and DoD that we are entering a new era of great power competition and in order to be prepared for the threat posed by near‐peer competitors the military must re‐align its strategic military doctrines, culture, and service programs and budgets. But what exactly will those re‐alignments look like? And what are the implications for installations and defense communities? This discussion will explore these questions as top military leaders and defense experts dive into these complex issues.

Register here for free (military, DoD and other Federal staff only).

Poetic Theater Productions Virtual Veteran Voices Showcase

Poetic Theater Productions presents a pay-what-you-can online reading of original work by veterans and the family members of veterans on October 24, 7-8:30pm. There will be a panel discussion with the participants after the event. Please consider sticking around on Zoom to participate in that.

Warrior cultures of the past such as the Greeks, Romans, and Native Americans welcomed their military home in rituals of storytelling. Following in that tradition, the Veteran Voices program seeks to create a compassionate environment for veterans and the family members of veterans to speak their truths, share their experiences, and bear witness together. Throughout the workshop series, they use writing and storytelling as tools to foster creativity, compassion, and camaraderie both among the participants and among the audience members of the final performance.
