    Annual Wounded Warrior Project Dinner

    Attend the 13th Annual Wounded Warrior Project Dinner on June 27, 7-11pm. This year's speakers include Elissa Montanti, author and founder of Global Medical Relief Fund, and Wounded Warrior Speaker Mike Linnington, CEO.

    Tickets are $55 per person and include dinner and drink. Contact Walter Osborn for payment.

    Mission Continues 2019 NYC Pride March

    The Mission Continues is invited to walk in this year’s NYC Pride March with partners at the National Parks Conservation Association (NPCA) on June 30, 12-7pm. The NPCA protects and enhances America's National Park System for present and future generations and was helpful in designating Stonewall Inn as a National Historic Landmark. There are unlimited spots so if you have any friends or family that would like to join, they’re more than welcome to march.

    Lineup is in Midtown at 3pm - however, you must stop by the NPCA office from 12-2pm to pick up mandatory wristbands, tee-shirts, marching signs, and flags. The first 75 people that pick up wristbands will receive special #PrideandHonor The Mission Continues shirts.

    Help to Stop the Epidemic of Veteran-Military Suicide

    Operation Warrior Shield hosts an event called Help to Stop the Epidemic of Veteran-Military Suicide on June 30, 3-7pm. 

    Speakers include: Borough President Eric Adams, Councilman Chaim Deutsch, and Bob Roth, CEO David Lynch Foundation. Enjoy entertainment from America’s Tenor Daniel Rodriguez and the Highland Divas, with dinner and refreshments plus a silent auction.

    Individual tickets are $100. Sponsorships available. Contact Ed Schloeman for details.

    Operation Warrior Shield provides comprehensive programs for veterans, military and first responders, which includes training in the non-religious modality of transcendental meditation (TM) and The VetWell Program techniques to help in healing the “hidden wounds," to assist veterans in employment efforts and to work towards ending veteran homelessness. Also available for those who
    wish to manage their stressful life.

    The Weehawken American Legion celebrates its 100th Anniversary on July 25, 6-11pm. Emcee for the evening will be LTC (Ret) Justin Constatine.

    West Shore Little League in Staten Island, NY

    Rolling Thunder 3 Boro Run

    Participate in the Annual Rolling Thunder 3-Boro Run, honoring Frankie “Towkar” Appice, on July 28. The event will support Disabled American Veterans (DAV) and local vets.

    Sign in begins at 9:30am in Staten Island. Kickstands go up at noon, heading to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Manhattan. Bikes will be fully escorted to and from the Memorial.

    Your donation includes breakfast, a free pin, lunch, and entry to a family-friendly after party hosted by the Marine Corps League at 46 Ontario Ave, Staten Island (beginning at 1pm).

    Rolling Thunder is a volunteer organization. Each member’s diligence and dedication enables us to support those who have served our country. Our veterans gave to us, help us give back to them.

    Congressman Payne Veteran Job Fair

    Congressman Donald Payne, Jr and The Essex County Continuum of Care Veteran Subcommittee offer a Veteran Job Fair on August 7, 10am-2pm. Veterans will have the opportunity to network with various employers who have veteran hiring initiatives, as well as apply to jobs on the spot.

    Historic Richmond Town in Staten Island, NY

    Staten Island Oktoberfest

    Staten Island Historic Richmond Town hosts Oktoberfest on October 12, 12-7pm. Enjoy food, beer, rides, vendors, live bands, carnival games. Veterans are free. Family and kid friendly. Free drink with $10 entry fee. All proceeds go to veterans in need.

    Veteran Cultural Competence Training

    The VA, Fordham University, and the Syracuse University Institute of Veterans and Families are enabling a day of Veteran Cultural Competence Training on November 12, 9-5pm. Training consists of many different interactive events, military simulations, lectures, and a powerful theater production that illustrates the challenges of veterans and the community's responsibility for their re-integration. All of these exercises will prepare you to work more effectively with veterans and their families.

    Open to anyone who currently provides services to or employs veterans, like: Business leaders, HR executives, Medical health staff, Mental health professionals, University faculty, and Administrators.

    Learn how to deliver quality, culturally competent care and education to Veterans and their families. Understand how to acquire
    the best strategies for optimizing the performance and growth of Veterans.
