Arts In The Armed Forces (AITAF) offers an online conversation on March 12, 8pm (EST), with writer, director, producer Judd Apatow (The King of Staten Island, The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Knocked Up) facilitated by Marine veteran and National Book Award Winner Phil Klay.
Once you register for the event, you will receive instructions to access Judd's selected film Richard Pryor: Live in Concert, so you can watch it at home on your own schedule, as well as the Zoom webinar link to participate in the Q&A.
Register here. Feel free to send pictures of you watching the film to [email protected]. Event is free for anyone serving/has served in the US military.
This comedy special contains adult and potentially triggering language. In preparation for the event, consider watching Elizabeth Stordeur Pryor’s TED talk, “Why it’s so hard to talk about the N word.” AITAF hopes to have a dynamic conversation that features the artistry of Mr. Pryor’s comic genius while giving some context to the complexity of language contained in the special.
