On Saturday, February 4th, you can join the Sierra Club and Another Summit in celebrating Transit Equity Day and bringing awareness to the Transit to Trails Act. Transit Equity Day is a national day of action to commemorate the birthday of Rosa Parks by declaring that public transit is a civil right, and advocates for equitable public transit systems for all.
For this event, we'll be offering two outdoor activities that are accessible by public transportation in Cold Spring, a village on the bank of the Hudson river. Please note that the activities have different start times!
Bull Hill
For those coming up from NYC, you'll need to take the 8:45 AM train from Grand Central Terminal to Cold Spring MNR on the Hudson Line in order to arrive in time for the Bull Hill hike. You can plan your trip in advance at mta.info.
Foundry Walk
This will be an easy, relaxing nature walk around the historic West Point Foundry Preserve in Cold Spring. This is just one of several public parks within a mile of the train station in Cold Spring, and a great place to visit for history-lovers. We'll then walk over to the picnic area at Little Stony Point to meet up with the first group for lunch. Lunch will be provided.
For those coming up from NYC, you'll need to take the 9:45 AM train from Grand Central Terminal to Cold Spring MNR on the Hudson Line in order to arrive in time for the Foundry Walk hike. You can plan your trip in advance at mta.info.
