After six years in the army, Stephan Wolfert hopped off the Amtrak deep in the mountains of Montana and found himself at a performance of Richard III that would change his life forever. In this heart-rending one man show, Cry Havoc, Wolfert examines his own experience pre- and post-service, in the lines of some of Shakespeare’s most famous speeches. Through his own personal insights, he explores our societal neurosis of war, and questions, is there room for improvement in the way in which we reintegrate our Vets back into society? The military recruits citizens and trains them to kill, but what does the “de-cruit” process look like? How do we re-learn to live together?
Runs March 15 - April 23 at the New Ohio Theatre. Trigger warning: Cry Havoc! contains strong language and strong content. A limited number of $10 tickets are available to Veterans for every performance of Cry Havoc!. Email firstname.lastname@example.org.
