Join our next online conversation Benefits & Help for NYC Veterans & Families: Restoration of Honor Act and VA Claims on July 20, 4:30-6pm (EST).
James Fitzgerald of NYC Veterans Alliance invites all veterans and family members for a continuation of our Zoom conversation on the Restoration of Honor (ROH) Act and VA Benefits Claims. Our conversation will jointly focus on how to file VA Benefit Claims with NYC Department of Veterans' Services and what ROH can do for those individuals who may have been impacted by wrongful discharges from military service due to exclusionary policies or undiagnosed or mistreated conditions.
Maryhelen Rosales, NYC DVS Director of Engagement and Community Services, will discuss how to file a VA Benefits Claim with NYC DVS and new program updates for NYC veterans and families.
We will be joined by SAGEVets Program Manager, Ashton Stewart, to talk about how older adults who are veterans of military service can improve their access to the VA and other veteran services, as well as support their overall health and wellness.
Coco Culhane is the founder and executive director of the Veteran Advocacy Project. She will connect with us to discuss common legal issues faced by veterans and information on legal services available to veterans & families. She will remain available to answer questions during the Q&A portion of the event.
Our special guest, New York State Assembly Member Didi Barrett (106th Assembly District), an original sponsor of the bill, will speak with James about the Restoration of Honor Act and provide insight into what the future holds for New York veterans.
Our conversation begins at 4:30pm, and we will keep the Zoom open until 6pm to ensure everyone has the chance to ask questions on screen or in the Q&A text.
