You are invited for NYC Veterans Alliance's next virtual discussion, Benefits & Service Help for NYC Veterans & Families: Restoration of Honor (ROH) Act and Legal Services, on June 22, 4:30-6pm. Learn what’s new with benefits and services for NYC veterans and families - with special guest Senator Brad Hoylman!
James Fitzgerald of NYC Veterans Alliance and Benjamin Pomerance of New York State Division of Veterans’ Services, invite all veterans and family members for an essential Zoom conversation on the Restoration of Honor (ROH) Act and veteran legal services. June is both PTSD Awareness month and Pride Month. This month's conversation will jointly spotlight the contributions and continuing struggles of LGBT veterans and individuals whose lives may have been impacted by wrongful discharges from military service due to exclusionary policies or undiagnosed or mistreated conditions.
We will be joined by SAGEVets Program Manager, Ashton Stewart, to talk about how older adults who are veterans of military service improve their access to the VA and other veteran services, as well as support their overall health and wellness. Coco Culhane is the founder and executive director of the Veteran Advocacy Project. She will connect with us to discuss common legal issues faced by veterans and information on legal services available to veterans & families. She will remain available to answer questions during the Q&A portion of the event.
We will also be joined by New York State Senator Brad Hoylman (NYS - 27th Senate District) for a conversation about the Restoration of Honor Act and what this means for LGBTQ veterans.
Our conversation begins at 4:30pm, and we will keep the Zoom open until 6pm to ensure everyone has the chance to ask questions on screen or in the Q&A session.
