Backpacks for Life (BFL) will host a viewing premiere of their own documentary, The Long March Home: An American Soldier's Life as a Nazi Slave Laborer, at the Jewish Community Foundation of Greater Metrowest on Thursday, November 18, 7-8pm.
The Long March Home tells the story of the life of Robert Max. Mr. Max is known to be the last surviving prisoner of war to have escaped Nazi slave labor. Unfortunately, he passed away at the end of 2020 but the BFL team was so honored to have the opportunity to capture his incredible story of serving in the Army, being held captive, becoming free and going on to lead an incredible life of service and giving back to the community.
The event will give you the opportunity to watch the entire documentary and attend the panel discussion with members from the veteran and Jewish community as well as the producer of the film.
