Casting Society of America Veterans Town Hall

The Casting Society of America's Equity in Entertainment Committee presents a Town Hall Conversation with and for Military Veteran Actors, hosted by Montel Williams on September 30, 6:30-9pm (EST). This town hall is part of CSA’s Commitment to Equity in Entertainment in Casting Initiative, a series of conversations designed to effect concrete change in how actors in historically underrepresented communities are afforded access to job opportunities.

A panel of Military Veteran actors and casting directors and talent agents will lead the event, including: Rosalie Joseph (Casting Director), Jason Kennedy (Casting Director), Tiauna Jackson (Talent Agent), Gail Williamson (Talent Agent), Jim Hackett (Actor), James Taku Leung (Actor), BJ Lange (Actor), Skye P. Marshall (Actor), Jennifer Marshall (Actor) and Hiram A. Murray (Actor).

The goals of the event are:

  1. for both constituencies to better understand the practical issues they encounter in their respective professions, and to share goals and aspirations;

  2. to discuss how CSA might better and more consistently work to increase audition opportunities and advocate for Military Veteran actors.

Union and nonunion artists who are professionally trained as well as those actively pursuing professional careers as performers, actors who identify as Military Veterans, as well as Casting Professionals (Casting Directors, Associates, and Assistants), Talent Agents, and Talent Managers, are encouraged to attend.
