The Center for New American Security (CNAS) will host a Special Event: Rethinking Human Capital: Before and After Service on Wednesday, February 9, 12pm EST.
In order to access the talent necessary to fight and win the nation’s future wars, the Department of Defense (DoD) and the military services must access, recruit, and retain high-quality individuals from across the country, representing a diverse set of backgrounds and experiences to meet emerging requirements. Military recruitment is further affected by the ways in which the nation cares for its veterans. The DoD and the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) are investing significant attention to and evaluation of existing policies and processes to ensure that the U.S. military is the most advanced fighting force in the world, and that those who have served in the military are cared for once their time in service has ended.
Join CNAS for a discussion with the key advisors to the Secretary of Defense and Secretary of the VA on issues of human capital and diversity, equity, and inclusion. The discussion will be moderated by Katherine Kuzminski, Senior Fellow and Director of the Military, Veterans, and Society program at CNAS.
