Combat Paper Bookbinding at the American Folk Art Museum

Combat Paper offers a bookbinding workshop at the American Folk Art Museum on October 13, 1-4pm. Participants will learn two styles of bookbinding, as well as explore the relationship between Combat Paper’s work and objects on view in the War and Pieced exhibition. Limited spots available.

Combat Paper is an artist collective that transforms military uniforms into handmade paper. Join Ithaca-based artist and veteran Nathan Lewis as he demonstrates how to transform uniforms into pulp, while discussing the myriad ways that textiles carry stories.

This program is held in conjunction with the recently opened exhibition War and Pieced: The Annette Gero Collection of Quilts from Military Fabrics - a show of 18th & 19th century quilts all made by military men and regimental tailors.
