The Fort Hamilton Legal Office Tax Center is open for business. It provides free income tax preparation and e-filing services for active duty military members and active duty retirees. The center operates on an appointment system but walk-ins may be accommodated on a space available basis. Required documents are prior year tax return, all current year income documents, social security cards, bank account and routing numbers. The tax preparers have extensive experience with federal and state income tax returns for all 41 states that have state income tax.
