Frontline – Peace Life, by U.S. combat veteran and photojournalist, J.T. Blatty, is a collection of portraiture, oral history recordings and documentary photographs of Ukraine’s volunteer soldiers who defended their homeland from the Russian-backed insurgency of 2014. These ordinary, mostly young men and women self-deployed into a warzone entirely of their own free will, without pay or obligation to the government, to protect their civil rights and vision for a life free of government corruption. Their stories are brave and heartbreaking, and through this work, Blatty hopes to convey their measured sense of hope as they continue to negotiate a delicate transition into what they call, “the peace life.”
Attend the exhibition reception on January 16, 6-8pm. The exhibit will remain open through March 8, 2020.
