HillVets LEAD is a 16-week leadership development class, held one evening per week, for mid-career(ish)-level professionals who are interested in military-related &/or policy making topics. There is an out-of-class reading requirement of 2-3 books (provided by HillVets) and a nominal amount of writing requirement.

Classes include Expert Guest Speakers from various areas of the military/policy world (mostly in-person) for a moderated conversation with participant Q&A. Previous speakers have included 37th Commandant of the Marine Corps, General Bob Neller; former U.S. Senator & Secretary of Defense, the Honorable Chuck Hagel; Members of Congress and senior Congressional staffers; VA Press Secretary Terrence Hayes; leaders from the government relations realm of various local VSOs (i.e., VFW, WWP, American Legion, AMVETS); 23rd Secretary of the Air Force, Deborah James; and many, many others.

LEAD Cohorts include a 2-day conference (in-person, in Washington DC) that the Cohort participants play a significant role in planning & implementing.

A $500 refundable deposit is required if selected as a Cohort 8 Protégé.
