In commemoration of the WWI Centenary and Veterans Day Weekend, the Hofstra Cultural Center and the Department of Music present “Music and the Great War” with the Hofstra Symphony Orchestra, directed by Professor Adam Glaser on November 10, 8pm.
The evening includes works by WWI veterans Butterworth, Hindemith, Ravel, and Vaughan Williams, as well as Elgar, Holst, and Parry. There will be special performances by the Hofstra Chamber Orchestra,
Professor Donna Balson (soprano), Professor Sally Charnow (narrator), Professor Marilyn Lehman (piano), Professor Gregory Mercer (tenor), and Professor Cindy Rosenthal (dramatic reading).
Tickets are $10 and $8 for senior citizens or matriculated non-Hofstra students with ID. Members of the Hofstra community receive two free tickets upon presentation of a current HofstraCard.
