Honor Flight Long Island

Honor Flight Long Island is a group that takes WWII veterans to the WWII Memorial in Washington, DC, for free, so that they can experience the memorial that was built to honor them all.

The next honor flight is September 23.

Motorcycle riders needed for escort duties. Contact Frank Bania ASAP to volunteer.

If you wish to be part of the sendoff crew, please be at the airport by 6am to line the terminal and wish the Heroes a great day. Some also need assistance getting out of their vehicles and into wheelchairs.

Bring flags, signs, and patriotic apparel for their return at 10:30pm. Form clap lines for the American heroes to walk through. Applaud and shout Welcome Home, letting the veterans know how much appreciation we have for the Freedoms they fought for 70 years ago.

For more information, visit www.honorflightlongisland.org or call 631-702-2423. HFLI has been in operation since 2007 and has flown over 1350 Long Island WWII Veterans to DC.
