Honor Flight Long Island Flying 47 Veterans to Washington, D.C. Memorials for FREE!
Honor Flight Long Island (HFLI) has scheduled a FREE flight on Saturday, April 29, 2023, taking 47 Long Island Veterans to visit their Washington, D.C. military memorials. The flight to Washington, D.C. departs from Islip MacArthur Airport at 6:05 a.m. Later that evening the return flight to Islip touches down at 10:25 p.m.

HFLI’s mission is to honor fellow Long Island Veterans by providing FREE, one-day trips so they can visit their Washington, D.C. memorials. This special flight includes 38 Vietnam War Veterans, who will receive long overdue recognition and thanks for their service. They’ll be accompanied by two WWII and seven Korea Veterans. This flight represents a “Big Hug” to all the Veterans from HFLI, their families and supporters. They return at 10:25 p.m. for a rousing welcome by the Nassau County Fire Fighters Pipe and Drum Band, plus cheers from hundreds of family and friends. The public is welcome to attend and applaud our heroes as they return to the terminal. Best time to arrive is 10:00 p.m.
Flight is completely booked for April 29, 2023. However, Honor Flight is accepting applications from Veterans for future flights. Veterans can sign up by going to www.honorflightlongisland.org.
