Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum's will hold Intrepid After Hours at the museum on Wednesday, July 14, 4:30-8:00pm. The museum invites military veterans and service members to experience the Intrepid Museum at night. Explore the Museum without the crowds, and then join peers for conversation, a creative workshop and a catered dinner. This month's After Hours creative workshop will be a photography workshop.
Photography and photographers were crucial to work and life onboard Intrepidduring its service (1943-1974). In honor of the Museum’s newest exhibit about Intrepid’s Photo Lab, [veteran] teaching artists from the Josephine Herrick Project (JHP) will lead a photography workshop on the flight deck. Learn the basics of photography and improve your skills as you take pictures of the Museum’s aircraft collection. The JHP teaching artists will then create an eBook of participants’ photos that will be emailed after the program. Boxed dinners will be served at the end of the workshop. Participants are welcome to stay and eat their dinner together outside under the Concorde or take it to go.
Advance registration is required and limited to current and former service members ONLY. Space is limited.
