Join fellow veterans, service members and military family members at the Intrepid Museum for a lively book discussion ONLINE! The Intrepid Book Club meets quarterly for a two-hour facilitated discussion with an introduction related to the Museum’s collection and crew. Books are a mix of fiction and nonfiction, all related to military or military family experiences. Copies of the books are available for free on a first-come, first-served basis (email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 646-381-5182 to register and then receive your copy).
On May 12, 6-8pm, discuss the National Book Award finalist The Yellow Birds by Kevin Powers. This lyrical novel follows two friends as they try to keep each other alive on the battlefields in Iraq. “An elegiac, sober, and haunting coming-of-age war story”- Jim Frederick, TIME
Moderator Reed Bonadonna is a former Marine Corps infantry officer and field historian. He is the author of Soldiers and Civilization: How the Profession of Arms Thought and Fought the Modern World into Existence and other works on military ethics and professionalism.
