Intrepid Military Family Program - Submarines: Life Underwater

Discover Submarines: Life Underwater on October 7, 1-3pm. Learn about the submarine Growler and the life of a submariner. Then experiment with keeping things afloat and other design challenges. Families have the option to explore Growler or immerse themselves in the interactive exhibition Submerged. Enjoy refreshments 30 minutes prior to the event.

Please note that entering the submarine requires walking down a flight of stairs and navigating a narrow, one-way passage filled with six raised hatches, which all guests need to be able to pass through without assistance, and tight spaces. Additionally, participants must also be at least 40 inches tall to pass through these hatches and strollers, large bags and backpacks are not permitted. There will be a designated group that explores the outside of the Submarine  and our interactive exhibit Submerged. Please let us know which group you would prefer to be in.

Intrepid’s Military Family Programs are for children 3-18, created for current and former military service members and their families. These two-hour programs include a hands-on tour of the museum, experiments and design challenges intended to engage the whole family.
