Intrepid on Liberty with the National Air & Space Museum

Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum presents Intrepid on Liberty: Zooming Into Museums Across the Country: National Air & Space Museum virtually on Friday, May 14, 5pm (Eastern Time).

Join the Intrepid Museum and fellow veterans, service members and their loved ones for a virtual staycation. They will be Zooming into the Washington, DC area, at faster than Mach 3, to visit the National Air and Space Museum. Dr. Michael Hankins, curator of U.S. Air Force history and Chris Reddersen, museum specialist in aeronautics, will join Kate Good, Intrepid Museum’s aircraft restoration specialist. Mike will discuss the fascinating history of supersonic jets, how they were made, and how they were used. Chris and Kate will then focus on the preservation efforts of these iconic planes and compare and contrast the deceptively similar Lockheed A-12 at the Intrepid Museum and SR-71 Blackbird at the National Air and Space Museum.  Join them to learn about these amazing aircraft!
