The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum presents Virtual Astronomy Live: Visualizing Spaceflight Experiences on August 20, 5:30-7pm (EST).
Hear from Jason Craig, Visualization Producer of the NASA’s Eyes software at Jet Propulsion Laboratory, as he talks through Eyes on the Solar System, a program that lets you explore the planets, their moons, asteroids, comets and the spacecraft exploring them. Using real trajectory data you can recreate famous moments in solar system exploration or preview exciting adventures yet to come.
A pre-show will take place at 5pm (EST) exploring immersive astronaut training. Learn how NASA simulates the harsh conditions of space with Elysia Segal, lead teaching artist and educator at the Intrepid Museum.
The event is hosted and co-produced by John “Das” Galloway, founder of the Kerbal Space Academy, and moderated by Summer Ash, an astrophysicist, rocket scientist and freelance writer.
