Veterans and PTSD: Advocacy, the Law, and Treatment

The New York City Bar Association Military Affairs Committee invites you to a discussion that will examine PTSD and its effects on veterans and society at large from three perspectives: an advocacy perspective; a psychiatric treatment perspective; and a legal perspective.  The speakers will be Agostino von Hassel (an advocate for PTSD awareness and treatment in New York City), Dr. Charles R. Marmar (the Chair of Psychiatry at NYU Langone and a renowned PTSD treatment researcher), and Art Cody (a retired Navy Captain and Legal Director for New York State Defenders Association, who is pushing for legislation that will inject PTSD treatment for veterans into New York’s criminal justice system).

42 West 44th Street is a few blocks from Grand Central Terminal.  The meeting will be in the Stimson Room.
