Bunker Labs is hosting a virtual roundtable of military spouses on Friday, May 7, 3pm (Eastern Time) in celebration of Military Spouse Appreciation Day. A panel of military spouses will lead a discussion on the military spouse experience and how entrepreneurship can combat military spouse unemployment, underemployment, and career instability.
According to 2016 Department of Labor statistics, only 53 percent of military spouses participated in the labor market compared to 76 percent of the general population. Thirteen percent are unemployed (three times the national average), and 31.6 percent are underemployed.
Entrepreneurship is an exciting, flexible, and fulfilling option that can address these high unemployment and underemployment numbers.
At the virtual roundtable, you will hear from military spouse entrepreneurs in the community and as they talk about their startups and small businesses. New military spouses are welcome to attend and connect.
This Town Hall is a part of the Town Hall Series brought to you by MetLife Foundation, created to inspire and equip the entrepreneurs in our military connected community to continue moving their businesses forward.
Registered attendees will receive a link and instructions on how to join the Virtual Town Hall in their confirmation email.
