Mission Continues Ellis Island Service Project

The Mission Continues is deploying to Ellis Island once again on September 9, 10am - 2pm.

In 2012, flood waters from Hurricane Sandy covered almost all of Ellis Island damaging a majority of its infrastructure. Ongoing repairs and recovery efforts have helped Ellis Island return to its pre-Sandy condition but there’s still more to be done. To help revitalize Ellis Island, veterans and community members will spend this day of service working side-by-side, removing trash and debris and refurbishing the grounds. This service project is part of an ongoing collaboration between The Mission Continues and the National Parks Service and is designed to improve public access to the history and natural beauty of national parks located in New York City.

Ferry tickets will be provided. Detailed project information, ferry departure times and ferry ticket pick up information will be given after Labor Day.
