Minority Veterans of America presents Our Stories, Our Truth: MST Survivors Speak on Facebook on September 4, 8-9pm (EST). Survivors will share their experiences in metamorphosis, growth, and recovery in the face of adversity. The emphasis is on resilience and strength, so no matter where other survivors are in their recovery process, they can know that they’re not alone, and that there is hope.
Watch it live here.
Minority Veterans of America was built as a space in which minority veterans could come together to share in connection and to fight for justice for our collective communities. Along the way, they have built a platform to speak their collective truth and to speak truth to power.
The lived experiences of minority veterans are riddled with contradictions such as the pride felt for having served our country, coupled with the impacts of the systems of oppression that intersect in our lives to keep them marginalized. This is why they started Our Stories, Our Truth. This series is made up of open mic-style events where members of the community share stories of their service and post-military lives.
